Gisele is a licensed attorney and director of the firm’s R&D Tax Credit practice. Gisele joined the EEPB InnovaTax, LLC. team after several years of tax consulting experience at Big 4 and specialty tax firms. She has successfully implemented more than 150 federal and state R&D Tax Credit claims for private and public companies within various industries, including energy and oilfield services; engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC); aerospace and defense; chemical manufacturing and development; consumer electronics and medical device manufacturers; software; and technology. During her tenure in the Accounting Methods and Credit Services practice at KPMG, Gisele was instrumental in leading one of the largest R&D Tax Credit engagements in the country among Big 4 service providers at the time.
A native of south Texas, Gisele attended The University of Texas at Austin, where she received a Bachelor of Journalism with Honors in 2006. Gisele later received her legal education and Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from South Texas College of Law. While in law school, Gisele was selected to serve as the research and teaching assistant to her legal research and writing professor, whom she also assisted in publishing a number of law articles in journals across the country. Gisele also competed with the law school’s award-winning Moot Court team and spent a summer abroad studying legal ethics and professional responsibility at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic.
Gisele Mascio brings significant technical industry knowledge and project management experience, with a heavy emphasis on complex data analytics. Gisele enjoys the combination of business, technical, and interpersonal dynamics involved in R&D Tax Credit engagements and works collaboratively and passionately with clients and their advisors to secure tax savings to support continued innovation in the U.S.
Gisele uses her free time to garden, work on home renovation projects, and escape with her husband, Paul, and three kids – Cecilia, Matthew and Peter – to her family ranch in South Texas.
